Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that powers the result. Foster City Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the content of that message and use it to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting systems record ordinary server-log details such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Those signals may be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The limited information supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvement. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this data.
External Portals and Links
Pages link to county and state records systems, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy governs the information you submit. The same applies to sponsored results supplied by another company.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and support providers may process server logs on behalf of the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure may also occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, the data is not shared for a separate purpose.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above require. There are no user accounts here, so Foster City Residents Directory does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Your California Privacy Choices
California's Consumer Privacy Act and Consumer Privacy Rights Act provide covered people with rights that can include access, deletion, correction, and opting out of sale or sharing. The main citation is California Civil Code ยง1798.100 and following. The California Delete Act also created a state data-broker deletion path, with current guidance available from the California Privacy Protection Agency.
Because Foster City Residents Directory keeps little information, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then deleting what can be found. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, San Mateo County, or Foster City offices are outside our control; requests about those records belong with the originating custodian.
Policy Changes
Revisions will be posted here. Continued use after a new version appears indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
